World Space Week

Astronaut on spacewalk.

Welcome to the In the Know October topic, World Space Week. You may wish to take a look at other grade spans and recommend articles to students that are below or above their grade’s reading level.

Grades K-1 look at how humans explore space.

Grades 2-3 look at two of the most important moments in space exploration, the Soviet launch of Sputnik and the American moonlanding.

Grades 4-5 examine the Hubble Telescope, one of NASA’s greatest success stories – and almost one of its greatest failures.
